De-Watering

We define this application as the active removal of groundwater for the purpose of installing sanitary, storm, water or communication lines. We call this application de-watering. This application is relatively new and has grown steadily since the mid-1980s. Deep trenching technology has finally allowed some control of the water table via vacuum extraction to the surface. We manufacture four diameters and various lengths from special materials to assist these companies in the temporary removal of construction stopping groundwater. In the early days of groundwater removal well points and header lines were used. This practice has all but disappeared from long line extraction. It is now used in areas with excess underground cross lines or urban areas with high traffic. Long roadside or large developments that require a clear above ground working area are well suited for this type of approach. The removal of the above ground header is a great advantage. With the old style well point and header system, the general construction project slowed due to the possibility of lost vacuum when contact was made with the header and the earth moving equipment. We have been and will continue to be a leader in this effort. Below are some pictures of a job in progress.
